John Stellman, Vice President - Mergers & Acquisitions, to retire at year's end

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DaimlerChrysler today announced the appointment of Barbara J. Pilarski to the position of Executive Director - Mergers Acquisitions North and South America, effective Jan. 1, 2007.
In this position, Pilarski will be responsible for all aspects of merger and acquisition (MA) activities affecting North and South America for all DaimlerChrysler business units. Pilarski replaces John C. Stellman who will retire at year end.

Pilarski was formerly Director - Mergers Acquisitions. She joined the Company in 1985 as a financial analyst, and has worked in various functions including Controlling, Treasury and MA.

Stellman, who joined Chrysler Corp. in 1968, played a key role in the Company's restructuring, negotiating the sale of nine component manufacturing operations. He was also instrumental in structuring a number of strategic partnerships including the Hybrid Cooperation among DaimlerChrysler, General Motors and the BMW Group and the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA) joint venture with Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and Hyundai Motor Co.
